The weekly RE/MAX Escarpment appointment centre report is out, and I’ll be honest, this week always feels like the real New Year to me. The days are still warm but the mornings and evenings have that cool fresh air now, and something about it just shifts. You can feel it’s about to get cozy and everyone comes back, and suddenly things are moving again.
August finished quieter than last year, which isn’t surprising. The buyers who stayed active through the summer weren’t just browsing, they were deciding and the conversion numbers back that up.
What we’re watching now is whether that carries into September.
Historically this is when things wake back up. Fresh listings come to market, people who put decisions on hold over the summer start moving again, and momentum tends to build quickly once it gets going.
Demand has been steady, inventory is starting to move, and the price ranges that matter most in Hamilton and Burlington are showing real activity.
