If there’s one thing Denni wishes would shift in the real estate industry, it’s the pressure for new Realtors to focus on sales right out of the gate.

There’s so much emphasis on getting your first listing, closing your first deal and building your numbers, but some of the most valuable work you can do at the beginning of your career doesn’t come with a commission cheque.

Find a great mentor. Shadow experienced Realtors. Sit in on conversations. Learn how to navigate difficult negotiations, inspections, conditions and the situations you won’t necessarily find in a textbook. Pay attention to how experienced professionals communicate with their clients when things don’t go according to plan.

Sales will come. Building the knowledge, judgment and confidence to genuinely guide people through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives should come first.
