Can you egress?? Egress is a fancy word for exit or escape and for home purposes refers to basement window sizing. This 7 year old Kanata home has an unfinished basement with window panes/panels about 12-13" wide. These are fi e and appropriate for living space.

However, if the new home owner decides to finish the basement with a bedroom these windows as is do not provide sufficient egress. A basement bedroom must have a window and it must have building code dimensions including each dimensions greater than 15" as well as a specific total area. An option here could be to install a window that opens to the full window space. Either a single panel or 2 removable slides.

Who else grew up stacking firewood? We used criss-cross stacks like this at each end and stacked the wood between them. I always marveled at my dad's mastery of this skill.

It comes with practice and experience. If is a bit wobbly or unbalanced the whole stack,sometimes 6 feet tall can topple over and you get to try again. A big question to young Corey, "do I ask dad to do this one or do I face the challenge?" Maybe I'll see if wants this one..
