FROM PAST...
Divadelní street is situated in the oldest and the most magical part of Prague. The Old Town was formerly an independent city, but became part of the Royal city of Prague in 1784. The Old Town got its beauty in the 14th century when King Charles IV. founded the New Town, where the craftmen and traders moved, while the Old Town remained the home of Prague elite, o
fficials, scientists, and philosophers. The name of the street, Divadelní (divadlo means theatre in Czech), comes from the connection with the National Theatre, which is situated very close to Divadelní 1088/22. The building of Divadelni 1088/22 was built in the year 1905 by František Jiskra. The building was used from the very beginning as the apartments. Famous inhabitans of the house include Antonín Pelc, who was a czech charicaturist, ilustrator and painter. TO PRESENT
With the full respect to the historical site, the reconstruction was finished recently, in May 2015. The concept of Divadelní 22 arose from the idea that comfort can be found in little things. The fusion of historical and contemporary elements can be found everywhere. The apartments were painted mostly in neutral tones and the high-end italian furniture was used to fullfill the atmosphere of the calm, cozy and warm place. All living areas of each apartmant face west towards the river.
