Great news for Lunan Bay Communities Partnership and their team of volunteers who make these things happen 👏
🎉 Exciting News! 🎉
We are thrilled to announce that Lunan Bay Communities Partnership (LBCP) has been awarded £10,007 from the National Lottery’s Awards for All community grant! This funding will allow us to purchase the materials needed to rebuild the disabled access viewing platform at Lunan Bay.
🌊 Why is this important?
Back in 2023, the previous platform—an essential spot for visitors of all abilities to experience our stunning coastline—was deemed unsafe and removed. Since then, we’ve been working hard to bring it back, and thanks to the National Lottery, that dream is now becoming a reality!
🚧 When will work begin?
With volunteers from RM Condor, Mitie, and Mott MacDonald generously giving their time and expertise, we will begin construction in May 2025.
🙏 A huge THANK YOU to the National Lottery and everyone who has supported this project so far, including Hew Blair-Imrie and family for providing the land and part-funding the planning application, Mott MacDonald for the free architectural drawings, and RM Condor and their contractors for their voluntary support in the build.
🛠️ What’s next?
We’re now focusing on repairing the boardwalk to ensure even better access for all. A GoFundMe page will be launched soon, but if you’d like to support this project now, please reach out to us at [email protected].
📢 Please share this fantastic news and help us make Lunan Bay accessible for everyone once again!
