Don't miss a fantastic community event we are bringing to Holmewood on Monday 27 July 11am–1pm.

There is so much happening and best of all... everything is completely free!

- Free Nerf Guys Battlefield arena
- Free adapted bicycles taster sessions
- Free arts and crafts
- Free Boccia, Kurling and other games
- Free home safety advice
- Free yoga
- Fire engine and Police vehicle
- Take home lots of ideas for what to do during the school holidays

Last week, we were delighted to welcome local historian Richard Godley to our Marx Court ‘Show and Tell’ social session.

Guests brought along a wonderful range of historical items, including a tiny Bible, hats, hair curlers, a thread counter and old coins.

Richard shared fascinating stories about local food producers such as Sutherlands, Bassets and Simpkins, as well as local mining history. He also brought along artefacts for everyone to enjoy and kindly gave each attendee two books to take home, covering both topics.

He is now planning a new project exploring the history of shops in Clay Cross, and the group are excited to be involved.

The next planned sessions are:
- Wednesday 24 June 10.30am - 12noon - Games
- Wednesday 15 July 10.30am - 12noon - Watercolour Painting
- Wednesday 29 July 10.30am - 12noon - Games

We have attached the flyer showing the Marx Court Social Sessions from September - there are some great activities planned.

Last week we attended Heath Primary School’s Market Day and Art Exhibition.
We had a lovely time making masks with the children and consulting with adults about their communication preferences.
Heath Primary School sent us the following:
‘I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your support at our school’s Market Day. The feedback has been really positive, and it was wonderful to see so many parents engaging with you. I truly appreciate the time and energy you gave to help make the afternoon such a success it made a real difference’.

With all the sunshine and showers we've been having lately, you may have seen a lot happening in your garden.

We want to celebrate the achievements of our green-fingered customers through our Gardening Competition, with the winner receiving £100 in vouchers.

Whether it’s beautiful flower beds, an impressive vegetable plot or simply pots overflowing with blooms, we would love to see them!

The competition closes on 31 July 2026 so there is still time to create something you can be proud of.

All you have to do to enter is take some photographs of all your hard work and email them to us at [email protected].

We’re delighted to be attending the Bioblitz event at the Chesterfield Canal at Renishaw this Friday.
The event runs over two days on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June and everybody is welcome!
There are plenty of fun activities planned for all ages – come along and get involved.
Bioblitz Drop-In sessions:

Saturday 9am-12noon

Join us at Wingerworth Fun Day this Saturday 13 June, from 1pm to 5pm at Allendale Park.
Come and say hello at our stall – we’d love to hear your thoughts about your local area and help with any housing enquiries you may have.
We’ll also be making fabulous masks with young people so there’s something fun for all ages!
With plenty of other activities, games and performances throughout the afternoon, it’s set to be a fantastic community event.
