We are delighted to announce that Bathurst Development has appointed developer HarperCrewe to deliver 130 new homes within the second phase at The Steadings.

Parcel 2D will consist of a mixture of types and tenures for premium sustainable homes, built with the heritage of the Cotswolds at the heart of its design.

HarperCrewe successfully delivered the first 68 homes within the first phase at The Steadings. They will now prepare their Reserved Matters Application (RMA) for submission by the end of March.

An RMA is a type of planning application that follows an approved outline application. The aim is to secure the outstanding details that were not included within an outline application. This is the final stage of planning approvals before works can begin on site.

More details will be shared in due course. Please check the News section of The Steadings website for more details when made available.

Lasting Legacy

We are creating a new neighbourhood at The Steadings – a place to be proud of, where people aspire to live, work and spend their leisure time.
With a keen focus on building a community and safeguarding local heritage.

Homes for the future

Beautifully designed energy-efficient new homes that integrate modern living with the architectural traditions of the Cotswolds, all built within a generous
open parkland setting.

Sensitive integration with existing town

The Steadings will have its own identity but will be integrated with the existing town.
The facilities and services within the new neighbourhood will
be accessible to benefit all across Cirencester.

Health & wellbeing

New community facilities including sports facilities, trim trails, circular walks, orchards and allotments are planned for future phases, giving a real sense of place to support health and wellbeing.

Biodiversity and ecology

The green infrastructure and wildlife initiatives in The Steadings are delivered before the homes are built, so that the open spaces are established when residents move in.
New wildlife is already being seen in the habitats created.

Vibrant and integrated community

The range of types and sizes of the new homes, along with the new facilities, will help to create a mixed community that grows organically.

Community Management Trust

The CMT at The Steadings will help create a ‘ready-made’ community that might normally take generations to build. Residents will have input into their own community and how the shared spaces are used, managed and looked after.

Upcoming remedial works to Midland Road and the mini roundabout with Love Lane.

Following the successful completion of improvement works to the Fire Station Roundabout, Midland Road and the mini roundabout with Love Lane, Bathurst Development has instructed Montel Civil Engineering to carry out minor remedial works in the area from Wednesday 28 January 2026.

This involves work to the dropped kerb crossings on Love Lane, alongside works to the concrete collars around the streetlights.

Starting at 9.30am on Wednesday 28 January 2026 for approximately 3 days.

Three-way traffic lights will be in operation from 07:00 to 19:00 during the works.

In addition, a set of minor remedial works will be carried out to the dropped kerbs on Midland Road close to Lidl. These works will be carried out at night from:

20:00 to 06:00

Montel endeavour to complete the works as quickly as possible. Montel will also remove their signage from the roundabout area during this time.

Additional minor remedial work will be carried out in the area during February once the weather conditions and overnight temperatures improve. It may also be necessary to carry out additional minor remedial works in the future as part of the 12-month maintenance period.

We will provide further updates on the News section of The Steadings website and social media accounts. Any changes due to weather conditions will also be shared this way.

"According to data collected by The Sunday Times, Cirencester, across the border in Gloucestershire, was ranked as one of the most popular locations to reside in.

The article read: “If you want an authentic Cotswold life — markets, shops, parks, cafés and a smattering of culture to elevate it above the weekender 4WD norm, along with pretty houses, Barbours and dogs — then home in on Cirencester.

“This ancient market town offers modern comforts and a stellar community spirit. The volunteers who run the heated open-air swimming pool were recognised last year with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service." "
