Clydebank Housing Association Ltd

Clydebank Housing Association Ltd Social housing provider operating in Clydebank since 1984 We are a “not for profit” organisation and a registered Scottish Charity.

About Us
Clydebank Housing Association was established by local residents in 1984 and working in partnership with the Housing Corporation and with the Local Authority, set out to improve housing and regenerate the central and east areas of the town. The Association was registered with the Housing Corporation in January 1985 and so will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2024/2025. In the earlier ye

ars, our development work was concentrated on the modernisation of the tenements in the town centre. When this work was finished, we embarked on a programme of new building to provide more new houses and flats for rent and for shared ownership. Today our aim to develop where possible and continue to provide good quality, affordable housing remains to the forefront. In 1999, we acquired over 750 houses in Clydebank from the previous landlord, Scottish Homes, which greatly increased our stock. We are committed to community control. Our policy is to encourage tenants to become members of the Management Committee and to take an active part in the running of the Association. As an Employer
As we grow, our role as an employer becomes more significant. We are committed to equal opportunities and are a Disability Confident Employer. Our Wider Role
We have also undertaken a ‘wider role‘ in our community where we aim to improve the social, economic and environmental circumstances of the community in which we operate. Our community centre, Centre81, delivers activities which meet many of these objectives. We own and manage CHA Power Ltd which provides energy efficient and affordable heat and hot water to our residents in Radnor Park and to the local church through a combined heat and power system. Another example of our wider role is our refurbishment of a former bank to create Clydebank Social Economy Centre to provide quality, inclusive accommodation for social economy, voluntary and community businesses. The Social Economy Centre is currently home to Stepping Stones Mental Health Charity and Community Links Scotland. Now for some more facts....

With the warmer weather, it is easy to forget about energy use.

Whether it is heating, hot water, or everyday appliances, energy costs are still adding up in the background.

Our West Dunbartonshire Energy Advice Service is here to help. It is completely free and open to anyone locally who is struggling with bills, fuel debt, or just wants to understand how to use energy more efficiently at home.

We can help with:
• Understanding bills and reducing costs
• Speaking directly to energy suppliers where things have gone wrong
• Helping you find the best deal before the increased price cap comes in on 1st July
• Accessing support such as hardship funding
• Practical advice on using heating and appliances more efficiently

Support can be provided at home, over the phone, or through local drop-ins, whatever works best.

Our support doesn’t stop there. We can also connect households into wider support, including Starter Packs for those setting up a new home, and help with accessing the right benefits and services.
