Friels are a family run business with an established reputation, where dedication to quality and attention to detail are part of everything we do. Our goal as a house builder is to be the first choice for discerning home owners who are looking for something a bit different. We are based in Walsall and have been building high quality houses since 1990 in the West Midlands and Staffordshire. Our developments to date include both small and large family homes, retirement developments, luxury apartments and barn conversions; all thoughtfully designed and finished to a high specification.

“It was always going to take something special to get us to move from our previous forever home!

We joined the Friel Homes mailing list during Covid in January 2021, mainly out of curiosity because I had visited the Angel Croft Hotel for work during 1985/86. We’d always loved Lichfield and wanted to follow progress but never really expected to move there.

But then in 2025 we viewed our beautiful apartment and that changed everything. The quality of the interiors, the warmth of the Friels team and that spectacular view of Lichfield Cathedral. We simply had to have it.

So 4 months ago we left our beautiful bungalow and bought our Apartment. It was nerve wracking and it was stressful, but the Friels team looked after us at every step.

It’s worth saying that rarely do you get people who look after you in the way they have. Everything about the experience was, and continues to be exceptional.

So here we are all settled for our next chapter… loving our Lichfield apartment, loving our Friels neighbours and generally loving life!”

Well done to everyone involved in the Lichfield Sheriff’s Ride 2026; we were delighted to be part of it ✨

Our gate into Beacon Park from Lunar Gardens will be officially open once our building work has finished, likely Summer 2027. It was wonderful to see it temporarily in use for this fantastic event at the weekend ☺️

Tomorrow morning we will be opening our brand new bridge into Beacon Park to allow the cyclists taking part in the Lichfield Sheriffs Ride to pass through Lunar Gardens and into the park 🌱

They will be the first to use our new entryway into Beacon Park until it is fully opened in Summer 2027.

We are excited to sponsor the cyclists in the event, so look out for our name on their t shirts ☺️

Huge thanks to our site team for working so hard to get the bridge and landscaping looking beautiful ready for tomorrows event, and lots of luck to everyone taking part in the Sheriff’s Ride 🐎 🚲

“We are thrilled with our new “Friel” home. Renovations and new additions to our property have created a beautiful modern home, while retaining much of the original character.

We have previously purchased new build properties but the quality, finish and attention to detail in our new Friel home has exceeded our expectations.

Every aspect has been carefully considered and completed to a high standard. The quality and style of the fixtures and fittings provided throughout by the in-house design team are comparable to those you would expect from a professional Interior Designer.

We are delighted with our courtyard garden too which was professionally designed and planted up by Friels.

Our bright and sunny courtyard has a lovely mix of plants that gives the garden colour, character and a real sense of calm and we have enjoyed the benefit of it throughout the summer.

As expected, there have been minor “snagging” issues but these have been dealt with promptly and professionally and we have no hesitation in recommending Friel Homes to anyone looking for a new home where attention to detail and a truly outstanding finish is very evident.”
