🗓️MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
The Renters Rights Act is the biggest piece of housing legislation in nearly 40 years and now we finally have implementation dates!
It will come in three phases
Phase 1 will start on May 1, 2026. This is when the legislation’s big items will become effective, including the abolition of Section 21, the transition to periodic tenancies, rent increases being limited to once per year, and more.
Phase 2 will happen between 2026 and 2028. It will include the introduction of the PRS database and the landlord ombudsman. 
 Phase 3 will happen from 2030 onwards, including the application of Awaab’s Law and the Decent Homes Standard to the PRS.
