š World Environment Day šæ
At Brookes Mill, sustainability isn't a box-ticking exercise... it's part of who we are. Our 'RE' strategy reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting the environment while preserving the heritage of our historic mill site.
ā»ļø RE-newable Energy
We're proud to operate on 100% renewable electricity and actively encourage our business community to do the same.
š RE-purpose
We continually find new uses for materials across the estate, reducing waste and minimising our environmental impact.
šļø RE-use
Once home to a thriving textile industry, Brookes Mill has been thoughtfully reimagined into a vibrant destination for businesses, leisure, health, wellbeing and culture ā ensuring the site remains relevant for generations to come.
š§± RE-store
Our buildings are restored with care and respect, using traditional methods and natural materials such as lime mortar and wool insulation wherever possible.
š¦ RE-wild
The estate supports a rich variety of wildlife, including white-clawed crayfish, kingfishers, three species of bats and more than 30 bird species. We actively manage the site to help local wildlife thrive.
š± RE-sponsibility
From reducing our carbon footprint to making environmentally conscious decisions every day, we're committed to operating responsibly and creating a place that honours both its heritage and its future.
This World Environment Day, we're proud to be part of a more sustainable future ā one step, one building and one positive change at a time.
