The Renters' Rights Act came into force on 1 May 2026, but the PRS Landlord Database is not yet open for registrations.
The government plans to begin a regional rollout from late 2026, with registration becoming mandatory as the rollout expands.
Form the informaiton that is available so far, every private landlord will need to register each rental property and provide information such as:
-Landlord contact details
-Property address and characteristics
-Gas Safety Certificate
-Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)
-EPC details
-Possibly some other compliance information - TBC
Letting agents will be able to submit much of this information on behalf of landlords, and the government estimates they may be able to provide around 43% of the required data at launch.
When we understand the full extent of the requirements, we will be competling a complaincy audit on each property before registration and supporting our fully managed landlords with ongoing compliance management
