Your feedback shapes what we do, and we’re always listening. Earlier this year, our Tenant Voice Team carried out four mystery shopping visits at our community shop, The Market Place, Speke, to help us understand what’s working and where we can improve. Customer feedback was an important part of this, including findings from a recent survey.

✔️ The good news? The Market Place is valued by you and plays an important role in the community️. You told us there are areas that could be improved too, and we’re already acting on your feedback:

💬 What you said: Limited opening times make it hard to visit.
🗨️ What we’re doing: We’re trialing extended opening hours from 4pm–6pm, starting on Thursday 2 July. This will be on a trial basis only, and we will update customers on how this goes.

Domestic abuse isn’t always about physical harm. It can take many forms, and sometimes it’s hard to spot. Knowing the signs can help you protect yourself or support someone else.

Domestic abuse can include:

🚩 Physical abuse – any kind of physical violence
🚩 Emotional or psychological abuse – threats, intimidation, humiliation, or constant criticism
🚩 Controlling or coercive behaviour – monitoring, restricting access to money, friends, or communication
🚩 Financial abuse – taking control of finances, stopping someone from working, or forcing debt
🚩 Sexual abuse – any sexual act or activity without consent

No matter the size of your garden or growing space, this competition is all about sharing the joy of gardening and celebrating the effort you put into making it look great. We have three categories for you to enter:

Yesterday afternoon we hosted our anti-racism strategy workshop. Thank you to everyone who came along. We had a brilliant turnout, and it was wonderful to hear the room full of ideas and honest conversations. 💭🫶🏾

Together, we talked about what it means for SLH to listen to tenants, how we can make our services fairer, and create neighbourhoods where everyone feels welcome and included. We also explored how we can better support you to report racism and hate.

Your feedback, lived experiences and suggestions will directly shape our anti-racism strategy, helping us take meaningful action and be more accountable to our tenants. We’ll be sharing updates on the policy soon.

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to our Family Fun Day in Garston Under the Bridge last week. What a lovely day it turned out to be! We were definitely lucky with the sunshine, and it was fantastic to see so many families getting involved and enjoying everything on offer. 🛹☀️

From the outdoor games to the skatepark workshop and the brilliant graffiti art, it was great to see people of all ages having a go, having fun, and spending time together.

💬 We also caught up with you about a couple of ways to have your say.

Thank you to everyone who spoke to us about how we can improve green spaces on King Street. We really appreciate you sharing how you currently use the space and what you’d like to see it used for in the future. We’ll share the results with you later this year.

We also spoke to you about our Corporate Plan and how you can get involved. We’re recruiting for Corporate Plan Champions; people who want to have their say, share ideas and help make South Liverpool an even better place to live.
