Croxteth Hall and Country Park is easily reached on foot from West Derby village, and once you're in, there's plenty to explore. Wander through woodland, past the Long Pond, and out into open fields with proper rural views, hard to believe you're still within the city.

If you fancy making a longer day of it, the Victorian walled garden and Home Farm are open for a small admission fee, and there's a café by the hall for when you need a break.

It's an easy, well-marked walk on firm paths, so any comfortable shoes will do, whether you're bringing the family, the dog, or both. 🍁
