Harrison Engler represented the successful landlord in obtaining a rare costs order in the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber). The tribunal found that 6 tenants had brought an inflated rent repayment order claim of £60,000 to intimidate the landlord.

Acquire Estate Agents has won a landmark costs decision representing the Landlord that could have significant implications for future Rent Repayment Order claims.

The Tribunal ordered six Tenants to pay costs after finding what it described as the "most egregious example" of unreasonable conduct and concluding that an 85% settlement demand was made to intimidate the landlord.

This is a landmark decision for Landlords.
