Right to Rent guidance has changed.

From 1 October 2026, updated guidance applies to Right to Rent checks carried out by landlords and letting agents in England.

The changes reflect the increasingly digital way these checks are completed, including the Home Office online service, eVisas and registered digital verification providers. The guidance also provides greater clarity around the processes landlords and agents should follow. GOV.UK
