What began as a simple idea turned into a year of remarkable growth when Jenna Long transformed part of her family’s land in Bembridge into a flower farm 🌻 Learning new skills in cultivation, irrigation and land management (and tackling far more weeding than expected), Jenna steadily built Bembridge Flower Farm into a thriving local enterprise.

The farm now boasts sweeping rows of seasonal flowers, including tulips, ranunculi, sunflowers, dahlias, cosmos, snapdragons and peonies, all grown without pesticides and with a far lower carbon footprint than imported blooms 🌸

The flowers are prized for their longevity, rich colours and strong natural scents, carefully curated to be vibrant and best in class, with strong demand reflected by regular sell‑outs at local outlets such as Sage Coffee House. The business has expanded beyond bouquets to include subscriptions, events and on‑site experiences, becoming a valued part of the community.

Looking ahead, Jenna plans to supply more local retailers, provide flowers for weddings and special occasions, and expand pick‑your‑own and Flower Farm Picnic experiences - ensuring what started as a bright idea continues to bloom across Bembridge 💐

Jo Hummel is an Island-based artist whose works are enjoyed across the world, from the Splendido Hotel in Portofino to Soho House in the Cotswolds. At the core of her work is a fascination with natural colour and materials, and Forelands beach in Bembridge has provided a rich source of inspiration.

Jo’s family has been connected to the island for several generations and at her studio in Bembridge, she works on commissioned pieces which celebrate her minimalist style and affiliation with the natural world.
