This 2,500 sq ft project in Harrow saw us redesign and refurbish a flagship R&D laboratory for a leading chemical manufacturer - creating a space that better reflects both the complexity of their work and their global reputation.

The existing lab was cramped and outdated, limiting efficiency and no longer supporting the demands of a high-performing research environment.

Our approach focused on creating a space that works - not just visually, but operationally.

✔ Reconfigured layout to improve workflow and accommodate specialist equipment
✔ Expanded laboratory, support offices and meeting areas
✔ Integration of specialist gases, extraction and M&E systems
✔ Creation of brighter, more open working environments
✔ Upgraded staff facilities including breakout areas and washrooms

Delivered over an 8-week programme, the project was carefully planned to minimise disruption while ensuring everything was completed on time and to a high standard.

From outdated to fully operational - in just 21 weeks. 🧪 This Oxfordshire laboratory and office fit out saw us transform a 4,900 sq ft space from a dated 1980s facility into a modern, high-performing laboratory suite.

Working closely with the client, we delivered a full turnkey project - from initial concepts and detailed design through to complete build and handover.

The transformation included:
✔ Removal of outdated materials, including asbestos
✔ New partitioning, ceilings, safety flooring & cleanable finishes
✔ Installation of resilient lab benching, storage, racking & seating
✔ Full upgrade of ventilation, temperature control & technical services
✔ Integration of fume cupboards and local extract ventilation

But it wasn’t just a visual upgrade - every element was carefully designed around how the space needed to function, ensuring a compliant, efficient and future-ready laboratory environment.
