What a transformation — taking an old, dilapidated patio and turning it into a fresh, modern, and sleek outdoor space built to last.

We installed a minimum of 100mm (4”) sub-base, increasing the depth where required depending on ground conditions. A Terram membrane was laid beneath to help spread the load and keep everything stable over time.

All flagstones were fully primed to ensure a strong, long-lasting bond.

This one might be a far cry from our usual transformation posts — no glamorous “after” picture — but it was a real honour to take on this job.

The customers had flooding under their floor and the moisture had already started to rot the flooring. They’d had investigations carried out, but still couldn’t find a clear solution.

Luckily at ProBuild, experience counts.

I made multiple visits to walk them through everything and make sure everyone was on the same page. All materials had to be hand-balled in — no diggers or dumpers on this one — but we do love a challenge.
We completed the job to a very high standard, and I’m pleased to say it’s now bone dry. Another happy customer 👍.

This job was an absolute gem! We transformed what’s become all too common on new builds — cheap, poorly laid 450 x 450 utility flags — into a crisp, clean porcelain patio.
As with all our patios, this one was installed with a minimum of 4” of Type 1 sub-base, compacted in layers on a geotextile membrane. Each tile was primed during installation and finished with a durable exterior grout, ensuring a high-quality, long-lasting result.
A huge improvement that completely lifts the look and feel of the garden.

Here’s an example of some of the other work we carry out.
This customer had an old timber retaining wall made from 4” posts. Over time, and without proper drainage, the timber had begun to rot — leaving the garden unstable and at risk of collapsing.
After discussing a few options, we agreed that a reinforced concrete retaining wall would be the best long-term solution. The new wall not only secures the garden but also gives the area a cleaner, more durable finish that will stand the test of time.

Sometimes, customers are simply looking to make their outdoor space cleaner, tidier, and easier to maintain.
On this project, access was tight and the existing shed needed to stay in place, so we carefully planned the work in stages to allow it to be moved as we progressed.
A great example of how a bit of planning and flexibility can make a big difference — transforming a small, awkward area into a much more usable and low-maintenance space.

Been a while posting and need to sort through photos but here’s a look at a job just completed. Customer had an extension done and the builder had just left a pile of stone, making it still look like a bit of a building site. Working with the customer and building control, we installed promenade sandstone with Basalt jointing. Definitely made a transformation to the area.

Nice repair job completed. This Pump Station housing was on the brink of collapsing. Should last many, many years now.
