TODAY! YOUTH CAREERS Day!

Join Back on The Map for Careers Week in September 2026! We have a range of local organisations and businesses showcasing their various employment, volunteering and training opportunities.

DAY 1 - Tuesday 1st September 2026, 11am - 3pm
Hendon Youth Hub, Elliott House, Mainsforth Terrace, Hendon.

Our first day will focus on apprenticeships, entry-level roles, training providers, colleges, and confidence-building volunteer roles for young people aged 16 to 19.

DAY 2 - Friday 4th September 2026, 10am - 2pm
Carnegie Community Corner, 67 Toward Rd, Hendon

Our second day will focus on career changes, employment, upskilling, and community-driven volunteering for people aged 19 and over.
No sign up is necessary, just come along and find out more about the opportunities on offer. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

A quick share to inform any seafaring men or women over 55 years old that Back on the Map have three available flats in Trafalgar Square SR1, for a very reasonable weekly rent to anyone who has a seafaring background

Acceptable criteria is
Age 55 + years of age
Ideally from Sunderland but not essential
Personal background or family history in Merchant Navy, Fishing Industry, Shipbuilding Industry ( subject to proof of records of service, or other documents to back up a connection to the sea this could be a relative connection such as father, husband etc. who has the connection rather than the person applying) .

Join us tomorrow for Everyday Play! is our fun and engaging daily session for under 5's. It’s a place to play, craft, socialise and share stories.
We do a mix of activities for children to get involved in but there’ll also be the opportunity to just chill out with your children in a safe, stimulating and welcoming space. There’s no commitment to attend the full
session, drop in or leave whenever you want.
