📈 Kiwibank has lifted selected term deposit rates following this week’s OCR decision, signalling growing confidence that interest rate rises could arrive sooner than expected.

The Reserve Bank held the OCR at 2.25%, but indicated hikes are likely later this year — with half the committee reportedly favouring an increase this week.

Kiwibank’s updated rates now include:
✔️ 9-month term deposit: 3.55%
✔️ 1-year term deposit: 3.9%

Meanwhile, two-year home loan rates have already climbed from around 4.5% to 5.2%, reflecting changing market expectations.

For homeowners, buyers, and investors, the lending environment continues to shift — making it more important than ever to stay informed and review your options.


The Reserve Bank kept the OCR at 2.25% on Wednesday but signalled rate rises would come earlier and more quickly than previously expected later in the year.
