To all the ladies who have ever been told they can’t do something, you can. Don’t be afraid to start.

I was told by a friend’s dad that I’d never go to university.
When I started in real estate, I was told that most agents only last 2–3 years.

There will always be people who doubt you, tell you how hard it is, or give you reasons why you won’t make it. You don’t have to believe them.

One piece of advice I’d give anyone: don’t take advice from someone who isn’t in a position you’d like to be in.

Be careful who you allow to influence what you believe you’re capable of.

I’ve found that the people at the top are often the first to encourage you, share what they’ve learnt and help bring you up with them.

The people who tell you that you can’t? Sometimes they’re simply telling you what they couldn’t do.

Choose carefully who you listen to.

Back yourself, start anyway, work hard and see just how far you can go. 🤍

1. Funnily running it has allowed me to slow down, it has give me a community, it takes my mind off work, allows me focus on what is infront of me and it gets me outside to enjoy nature. It has encouraged me to take a weekend off and go away with friends (something I'm working on).

2. I'm disappointed in myself for not training consistently and not installing the correct habits when it is something I had committed to. But I'm not disappointed in the time even though it was 2 mins slower as I know I didn't put the work in.

3. A friend asked me this year if a half was one of my goals when setting them on New Year's Day. I said I wish but my feet couldn't run that far. Look at how far we have come, I can't believe it 🥹

4. The auckland half course is a lot harder than my first half marathon but the goal is to redeem myself and get a PB.

5. In all honestly I didn't pace myself well (it's a work on) at the start running around a 5:30 for 10km and it hit me HARD after that, there was a lot of stopping/walking and self talk to get me through the last half. Plus kind encouragement from friends and strangers.
