Paradigm Pets 🐾

Chaos, curiosity, and toy springs — Mushu from Meridian at Ballston Commons brings all three. 🐱✨

This tiny “dragon” keeps life entertaining with his endless bug investigations and intense obsession with spring toys. Equal parts mischievous and lovable, Mushu has mastered the art of being “up to no good” while still completely stealing everyone’s heart.

From his DC rescue story to his larger-than-life personality, Mushu proves there’s never a dull moment in pet-friendly living. 💛

Tips for the DC Newbie (From a DC Newbie)

Packing to move can be stressful, but staying organized and having a method can alleviate that stress! As someone who has moved several times, I've developed a method for packing.

Start by making an organized list of everything you're bringing to your new home. As you pack, keep like items in the same box to avoid confusion as to where something is. Be sure to label your boxes for more efficient unpacking later. Finally, keep in mind the size of your transportation, whether you have a car or a U-Haul, you want to make sure everything will fit!🚗

Unwind, mingle, and dive into new worlds at Literary Libations, a free monthly book club gathering in the cozy Parlor Room at The Study at Morrison House! June’s book club will meet this Wednesday, June 17th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

This isn't a rigid, formal discussion; think of it as a relaxed evening where you can swap ideas, connect with fellow readers, and chat about great books. 🍹

Restaurants We Love 🏳️‍🌈🍽️

Continuing our celebration of Pride Month, all month long we’re highlighting LGBTQ+ owned and allied restaurants that make the DMV such an incredible place to dine 🌈

Next up is Federico Ristorante Italiano — an elegant neighborhood staple on 23rd Street in Arlington that carries a legacy of community and acceptance. Operated by lifelong local and LGBTQ+ advocate Freddie Lutz, Federico beautifully blends authentic, upscale Italian dining with the same warm, inclusive spirit that Freddie has championed in Arlington for over 45 years.

🍽️ What to order:
• Meat Lasagna — layers of fresh pasta, rich meat sauce, and melted cheeses made the traditional way
• Veal Parmigiana — tender, perfectly breaded, and smothered in a vibrant tomato sauce
• Tiramisu — light, espresso-soaked, and the absolute perfect finish to an Italian feast

Whether you’re inside the cozy dining room or raising a glass to Pride on the patio, Federico delivers unmatched comfort.
