🍁 Want to protect the equity you’ve built in your home? Fall maintenance matters more than you might think.

Before winter arrives, a few simple things are worth checking:

• Gutters and downspouts — make sure water is moving away from the house
• Roof and flashing — catch small issues before snow and ice arrive
• Caulking around windows and doors
• Furnace service and filter change
• Exterior grading and drainage
• Cracks in concrete, driveways and foundations
• Trees or branches that could become a winter problem

None of these are particularly exciting — but deferred maintenance can become expensive maintenance.

Your home is likely one of your biggest assets. Taking care of the little things along the way is one of the simplest ways to help protect its value. 🏡

Sunday looks a little different today. ❤️

Trading showings, contracts and computer time for a day at Silver Lake and some much-needed time with family.

One of the things I love most about living and working in this area is just how much we have right in our own backyard—lakes, small towns, beautiful countryside and so many different ways to call this area home.

Real estate is a huge part of my life, but days like today are a pretty good reminder of what “home” is really supposed to be about. ❤️

I spent some time this morning stepping away from the professional data to really listen to the "on-the-ground" conversations happening in our community. While the news is often filled with noise about the global economy and shifting markets, what I’m hearing from you is more personal.

There’s a lot to process right now, from the complexities of the international landscape to the way the bond market is nudging mortgage rates. It’s natural to feel a sense of "watchful waiting."

Here is my perspective on what this means for us here in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin:

1. Perspective Over Panic
Nationally, we’re seeing a bit of a "stall" in home values, but real estate is—and always has been—hyper-local. In McHenry and Walworth Counties, our market remains grounded. We are seeing a gradual increase in inventory, which is a welcome change. It allows for a more thoughtful, less rushed process for everyone involved.
