PERSPECTIVE--Today I am celebrating 19 years of new life in my 65 year old body! 19 years ago today I suffered a massive heart attach and was brought back to life by some very skilled ambulance EMT's, emergency room doctors and nurses. As I sat quietly this morning with Gods word open in front of me a new thought of thanksgiving came to mind. I am thankful for a spirit of "contentment". In the past few months I have been thinking about what "contentment" for me means. I have come to understand that, for me, contentment (joy) comes as a result of seeing lives impacted by serving, (my purpose in living). I get up each day to serve my God, Lynda (my wife), my family, and our team team members and clients. Experiencing the fruits of my service is what gives me the highest sense of contentment and joy (something that money cannot possible provide). A friend recently told me that our work should bring us more life, not suck the life from us.
The glasses that I recently lost , in the snow, and then found a day later are a tangible reminder that "perspective" life with my glasses is much better than life without.
