I don’t think we truly understand Ecclesiastes 3:1—“To everything there is a season…”—until we’ve lived through a few seasons we never would have chosen for ourselves. Because if we’re honest, most of us think that if we’re praying, trusting God, and doing our best, life should feel easier. We think the hard seasons mean we’ve taken a wrong turn. But that’s not always true. Sometimes the season you’re in isn’t punishment. It’s preparation. Some seasons will stretch your faith. Some seasons will break your heart. Some seasons will force you to let go of people you thought would be in your life forever. There will be seasons where you feel lonely. Seasons where you question yourself. Seasons where you cry in private and still show up for everyone else. But there will also be seasons of healing. Seasons where God restores your peace. Seasons where you finally stop settling for less than you deserve. Seasons where you realize the very thing that almost broke you is the thing God used to make you stronger. That’s why you can’t judge your whole life by one difficult chapter. God works in seasons. The season of loss is not the season of forever. The season of waiting is not the season of forever. The season of heartbreak is not the season of forever. And the same God who allowed one season to end is the same God preparing the next one to begin. So if you’re walking through a hard season right now, don’t lose heart. God has not forgotten you. He has not abandoned you. And He is not wasting your pain. One day you’ll look back and realize that the season you begged God to remove was the season He used to grow you into the woman you prayed to become. 🤍✨
