Those aren’t birds you’re hearing. 👀🎶

We were exploring near Austin’s new Wishbone Bridge when we stopped at the Ghost Harps at Holly Overlook.

There are six of these wind-activated harps, and when the wind moves through them, they actually make music.

Seriously — turn the sound on. That almost bird-like sound in the video is coming from the harps!

This was such a cool Austin find and one of those reminders that sometimes you don't have to go very far to discover something completely unexpected.

We turned the day into our own little Austin staycation with the Wishbone Bridge, Ghost Harps, Austin Central Library and a few food stops along the way.

What if your Sunday plans were completely FREE? 👀

Austin Museum Day is this Sunday, September 20, and museums across the Austin area are opening their doors with FREE admission for the day!

I’m a member of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, so you know that one is always on my list 🌿 — but Museum Day is a great excuse to explore somewhere you haven’t been before.

And there are a couple of extras that make planning your day even more fun:

🏛️ Make a day of it with the UT Campus Crawl and visit several participating museums around the UT campus.

🚌 Leave the car behind! Free CapMetro bus passes are available for Austin Museum Day, making it even easier to museum-hop.

There are more than 30 participating museums and cultural organizations, so whether you’re into art, Texas history, science, nature or just looking for something different to do this weekend, there’s plenty to choose from.

Buying a home while working a packed, inflexible schedule is more common than people think.

And it changes how the process should go.

The first thing I do with buyers in this situation is get financing squared away early, so once the right home shows up, we're not scrambling on paperwork before we can even schedule a showing.

From there, we treat photos and virtual tours as a filter. If a home doesn't clear that bar online, it's not worth using one of your limited windows to see it in person.

And when we do tour, we batch showings back to back on the days you have available, instead of spacing them out and losing momentum in between.

I love when a goal has an actual date attached to it instead of just floating around as "someday" 🗓️

Consider this my seasonal permission slip 🍂

Austin may not be hinting at cooler weather yet, but I’m fully committed anyway. Cozy candles, seasonal drinks, new porch decor—all of it.

It might be a little dramatic when it’s still this warm outside, but it’s the best kind of dramatic. Sometimes you just have to create your own fall in Austin.

For buyers who love South Austin but feel like their budget is limiting their options, looking a little farther south can make sense.

In August, the median sold price for a single-family home in South Austin was $412,000, compared with $360,000 in Buda. Buda also had more available inventory, giving buyers a little more breathing room to explore their options.

That difference may open the door to additional square footage, a larger yard or a newer neighborhood without moving too far from Austin.

The lifestyle is different, too. South Austin keeps you close to Menchaca Road, Southpark Meadows and familiar local favorites. Buda trades some of that immediate access for a smaller-town routine, where you can grab coffee near Historic Downtown Buda, spend time at Buda City Park and still head into Austin when you need to.

The commute is the tradeoff, especially if your daily routine keeps you in central Austin. But for buyers who work remotely, have a flexible schedule or simply want more home for their budget, the move south may be worth considering.
