The Wetlands Institute is closing the Stone Harbor headquarters where it’s been for the last 55 years. Executive Director Dr. Lenore Tedesco said the Institute’s Salt Marsh Trail and the surrounding ecosystem have been affected by rising sea levels.

MORE THAN 200,000 cubic yards of sand have been placed on Avalon's north end beaches near 13th and 14th Streets. Sand pumping continues, with work moving toward 9th Street. Once sand is fully placed at the northern limit of the project, sand pumping will return to the 14th Street area and begin moving southward to 25th Street. Temporary closures occur in the immediate vicinity of the work, and reopen as the work zone moves.
