From the outside, real estate can look like keys, pretty kitchens, and closing photos.

Behind those moments are late-night inspection questions, parking-lot negotiations, uncomfortable conversations, and the occasional decision to tell a client, “I do not think this is the right house for you.”

That last part matters most. The job is not to sell every house. It is to help someone recognize the right decision and feel protected while making it.

You found a house you want to see…

Then your agent sends you an agreement to sign first. Wait, what? 😅

It can feel like a lot of commitment for someone who just wants to walk through a kitchen and judge the closet space.

Here is what is happening👇👇

Before a buyer’s agent personally takes you to tour a home, you will typically be asked to sign a written buyer agreement.

The agreement should include verbiage such as:
↪What your agent will do for you (depending on the type of agreement chosen)
↪How long you will work together
↪How your agent may be compensated

It does not mean you should sign something you do not understand. The terms can be discussed, and you should feel comfortable asking questions before agreeing to anything.

Do not let the form intimidate you, but do not blindly sign it either.

A good agent should be able to explain every section in plain English, including how compensation works, before asking for your signature.
