Mike Smith founded SmithicAir after falling in love with Drones and wanting to help people. He also helps hunters find their deer carcasses.

SmithicAir is a drone flying photography and videography company specializing in capturing real estate from a unique perspective using a camera drone and finding lost pets and deer carcasses using a thermal drone. Mike is a commercially certified FAA Remote Pilot who utilizes the DJI Matrice 30T (the best thermal enterprise drone available), the DJI Mavic 3T (smaller, lightweight thermal enterprise drone), and the DJI Mavic 3 Classic (excellent camera drone) to perform his work. Home at Last! BEAR, the Golden Retriever missing from , IL, is home safe and sound! Missing 2026-09-17 Reunited 2026-09-20 Welcome home Bear!

"Bear has been found‼️‼️ please share this post‼️‼️
Everyone has been calling and asking us for the story and I really love the messages but I need to be there for my angel right now. So, here is the story, please share if you’d like to spread his story and for awareness!

I want to thank every single person who helped search, brought us food, shared the post, or even told a neighbor. You guys are amazing and I will never be able to express my gratitude.
Bears story has touched so many, as far as Texas and California even. We had people from far and wide offering to come help search. You are amazing humans and I’m so truly blessed by this community.

Bear bear is perfectly okay. He has some minor rashes and infection but no bones or surgery needed. He’ll be going back to the Welcome Waggin for check ins. Dr. Jenny came in on a Sunday- her day off- to check on bear. She’s an amazing human and vet. Thank you so much.

If you don’t watch the video, please know Eric Underwood is a hero. He jumped in a river in the rain fully clothed to save bear just because he heard a bark. He had no idea bear was there but he had a feeling. My dad is the best person in the world and I knew he would find Bear. If Bear didn’t love me so much, my dad is his next favorite. They have an ineffable bond. Daddy, I’ll never thank you enough. Also, thanks to Anthony Gacek and Trevor Underwood for jumping in to help dad. You guys are the best brothers a girl could ask for.

Thank you Deb L and her team for giving us guidance on how to stay calm and find Bear. Setting traps and getting drone experts out here for sightings. Erik Simmons stayed all day Friday to help us when he didn’t have to- seriously the best guy ever and helped us with our first bear spotting. You guys are the best at what you do and deserve everything in life. Truly.

Kelly Underwood, Shelby Pipowski, Krystyn Stefanu Suzanne Waring for coming out everyday to help look and bring food. They were all over Facebook, they were putting up fliers, and they were networking with the community to bring bear home. You ladies are the true definition of womanhood and community. Sebastian Sochacki and I are so lucky to have you in our corner.

Loafy, missing from South Beloit, has been found and recovered safely. He has been missing since Thursday with no sightings! Story, video, photos later! So happy for the family!

Bear is home safe! We did not find her during our search but wanted to share since so many of you tagged us on the posts. Thanks to the volunteers, friends, and family! Great work!

Update from family: he's been to the vet and he got IV fluids blood work and x-rays. He’s got meds for his eyes and ears and he is back there tomorrow. Some of his bloodwork is iffy so they said the next 48 hours are important. Not out of the woods yet but doing so well!!

Home at Last! ATLAS, the American Staffordshire Terrier/Labrador Retriever missing from, IL, is home safe and sound after 3 long days! Missing 8/30/2026 - Reunited 9/2/2026 Welcome home Atlas!

Reunion story from Rosanne from Team Atlas:

"Atlas went missing on an early morning when a door was left ajar. Many sightings came in later that day with some following and chasing.

Tips to the family were coming in on comments. Everyone wanted to help! Atlas suffers from seizures and takes medicine daily, so that added a layer of worry to this extremely busy and overloaded family (which also consists of 4 human siblings, a few dog siblings and a foster pup. The heat index for the week and weekend was at an all time high....

Smithic Air got a call to look for Atlas. That was unsuccessful, but some tips for luring and basics for recovery were given for guidance.

We decided to do some teamwork.

1. Feeding station at home/lost area (food, water and scent items) VERY important 🔥
2. Covered simple lost flyers on cut neon posterboard went up in the residential area and exits/entries. I started to map Atlas last sightings and piece together areas of interest. (The flyers were key in the recovery and calls) Not everyone is on social media so a visual flyer is always important. Atlas had been seen blocks from home.
3. Shared on many social media pages, nextdoor and neighborhood pages
specificallyto keep eyes on yards, window wells, sheds, garages and water areas.
4. The heat index got hotter and sightings dropped off for almost 2 days! Yes, we started to worry. We always trust the recovery process, but the immediate area had water and wooded areas. If a pup is impaired, sick or injured it may become important to break down the area in grids and quietly search. Only recommended in extreme cases or when sightings just drop off. Dogs are very resilient, but uncontrolled things can happen.
THEN!
Andrea (the owner) got a call around midnight Tues/Wed of last week, that a resident coming home from work had seen Atlas walking down a close by sidewalk. Andrea bounced into action, but in excitement forgot some key steps to try and lure:
1. Calm/Breath
2. Bring Smelly Yummy food (easy to toss)
3. Leash/Slip Lead
4. Scent items (clothes and you are a huge scent)
5. The urge to call out, scream, follow, grab)
When Andrea got to the block Atlas dodged in between a house and was not able to be contained. BUT, we knew he was alive and close to home. We re-grouped, put a few more flyers up and refreshed food/water! Then back at it again in the morning.
Right around 6am, the calls started (flyers doing their job) 🤩🤩🤩
Andrea was trying to get ready for an important appointment, and I was getting ready for work. But Atlas had stuck around close looking for food and water) A trusted fellow animal friend (Erin) went to area to door knock and if Atlas around to try and lure.
Andrea decided to try one more pass in the general area, and saw Atlas laying near a fence. Put the lure plan into action.

Atlas was a little irritated but finally gave into his mom's arms and he was lured and safe!!!
Vet check, seizure medicine and all the worries melted away. This sweet family had their whole pack back together 🩵
Thanks to the community, Smithic Air, BFF (Best Furry Friend Search/Rescue) for flying two days! And some amazing volunteers keeping eyes on social media, checking the area and helping to take down flyers.

Heading out look to look for Zoey. There has been pretty good sighting activity unil today. Hopefully she's still in the area. Hope everyone is having a good night.

No luck with our search tonight. This dog is missing in Kings Illinois. Last scene north of the intersection of 64 and 251. We need a sighting. Please do not call out or chase.

We were first contacted on July 22nd and flew for her that evening without success. We came out again on the 29th and were able to track her for a while before losing her again. So happy that Denise Gergits with help from Jill Kaider Boland and Rita Foster-Barnett were able to bring this girl home. Great job!

SAFE!!! Not sure of all the details but someone called the police and Honey was brought to Golf Rose. The Foster is picking her up! Special thanks to Michael Davis from Best Furry Friend - Search and Rescue who came out multiple times to support the search. Congratulations to Taylor Johnson who did not give up and hung up so many fliers. Great work!

We are working on this one. If you are in the Streamwood area, please check your properties especially bushes, tree groupings, tall grass, and brush areas. This dog probably still has a leash on and we are concerned that the leash is caught on something. As usual, please call the numbers directly if you see the dog. Do not call out or chase the dog.
