With tropical weather in the forecast, now is the time to prepare — not panic. A few simple steps ahead of the storm can make a big difference in keeping your family, home, and property safe. 🏡

Secure or bring in outdoor furniture and loose items, stock up on essentials, charge your devices, and stay informed through trusted local weather and emergency updates.

To our Homestead Realty tenants: Please take a few minutes to secure the exterior of your rental and bring in any loose outdoor items. If storm-related property damage occurs, document it with photos once conditions are safe and report it through your tenant portal or contact our office.

And to all of our Southeast Texas friends and neighbors — please stay weather aware, check on the people around you, and never risk your safety to protect property. Things can be repaired and replaced. People can’t. 🤍

🔨 **NOW HIRING – Maintenance Technician / Handyman** 🔨

**Homestead Realty** is looking for a dependable, skilled maintenance technician to join our network of trusted vendors! We have a steady flow of work maintaining and preparing residential rental properties.

**Typical jobs include:**
🏠 Interior painting
🪵 Installing LVP and other flooring
💡 Replacing light fixtures, ceiling fans, and hardware
🚰 Replacing faucets and sink fixtures
🔧 General property maintenance and minor repairs

**Additional experience is a huge plus:**
✔️ Minor plumbing repairs
✔️ Basic HVAC troubleshooting and repairs
✔️ General contracting and remodeling

**How Pay Works:**
• **Small maintenance jobs** are paid at an **agreed-upon hourly rate (DOE)**.
• **Larger remodel or repair projects** will be **bid individually**, with pricing agreed upon before work begins.
• Applicants should be comfortable estimating and quoting their own larger jobs.

This is **not a guaranteed full-time hourly position**, but we have a **steady volume of maintenance work** throughout the year for the right person.

**Requirements:**
✅ Reliable transportation
✅ Own basic tools
✅ Ability to work independently and communicate professionally
✅ Quality workmanship and attention to detail
