It’s time to celebrate joy—especially when it comes in the form of losing out on the house that felt like The One…only to have them circle back after the first offer accepted falls apart!

Ali + Jackie had a busy start to the year, beginning with coordinating the sale of their first home in Maine to make the pilgrimage back to Boston to be closer to friends and family.

When we got started, their dream was to own a single family in their beloved old neighborhood, Roslindale; but with a home sale contingency and tight budget for singles in Boston, they kept their expectations measured and tame. That is, until we found the cutest house offering the perfect blend of all the good bones with potential in all the right places.

While we came in second place after the first round of open houses, what was meant for A+J found them at the right time, and now 10k less than their original offer!

A belated, but heartfelt congratulations to Ali and Jackie. Welcome back home! I can’t wait to see how you make it yours 🥹

What a way to close out 2024, with Vickie getting the keys to her first home! ❄️🔑 (Well, the keypad code!)

We originally connected over 2 years ago when she was interested in learning more about homeownership for sometime in the future. Last year, she followed up to let me know she was feeling ready to begin her search! Thanks to the support of STASH provided by and her village of supporters including family, friends, and professionals, we were able to help Vickie achieve what previously felt unachievable - buying a home in Boston as a first generation homeowner. It has been such an honor to help Vickie become a homeowner just a short distance in Dorchester from where she grew up in Roxbury.

Not only does Vickie have a home of her own, she also now has a sustainable monthly payment well below what market rent would be, no PMI, as well as a subsidized interest rate under 5% made possible by the MHP ONE+ loan program for qualified first time homebuyers. Even better, she was able to do so while paying less than the equivalent of first/last/security/broker fee from beginning to end of the process! 🤯

I know most of you share in the absolute devastation and despair of this loss. The earth-shaking anxiety for what is to come. I have spent most of this week grasping for ‘normal’ and mostly oscillating between numb and scared.

These are some words from others that have helped center me as we prepare for what will no doubt be one of the most challenging seasons of our lives. It will get worse, and then it will get better. We can’t do it without each other, and we have to fight for it.

Here’s a win for the day that everyone can count on - Exsenet closed on her first home!! 🎉

Exsenet was referred to me by after meeting each other in the same STASH cohort. She had moved all around the country (and Boston, iykyk) and was eager to establish roots in her new community. As a first generation homebuyer, Exsenet qualified for an additional grant to support first time buyers that are not benefiting from the generational wealth of their families. Her grants totaled to more than 60k and it made all the difference in her ability to get her FIRST offer accepted on a gorgeous, renovated condo with parking and a fully fenced yard in Dorchester. 😍

My favorite part of working with Exsenet was her unwavering trust and faith throughout this process. We saw many condos together and each time it was close, but not quite right, she would sit with it and find the resolve to move on knowing ‘the one’ was still out there. That’s truly where the magic happens! ✨

Shout out to SAM SHARMA who bought a house this week!! 🎃🔑

I met Sam initially as one of Laura’s coworkers at Lamplighter, who wanted to chat about buying her first home at some point in the future. Very chill, very casual, no rush. Once we got started, it didn’t take her long to find an amazing condo in Union Square that ticked all the boxes ✅ (Less than a month to be precise)

While I’m sure Sam is still processing that this all came together so quickly, I am so excited to see her get settled in to her first home - and to make a new friend that I can’t wait to celebrate with!

H+E are the first clients I’ve worked with that organically found me on IG - how cool is that?! Definitely inspiring me to post a little more regularly 😅

When we were getting started, it was very important to Hallie and Emily to find a home they could ideally start their family in. 2024 has been a busy year for them, from nuptials, to family planning, and now closing on an incredibly charming single family home in Milton! Things came together quicker than expected, but when you find the one, you know. Especially when it’s your first offer, at asking, with a home inspection, in a fantastic school district with the right balance of turnkey and value add opportunities 😍

Congrats again ! I can’t wait to see how you make it your own!!
