Big data. Big questions. Let’s talk, Colorado. 🏔️💬

Data centers support the technology we use every day—but where they’re built and how they fit into a community deserve thoughtful conversation.

Here’s the latest in Brighton:

📌 On October 6, City Council approved the first reading of a proposed one-year pause on new data center applications.

📅 A second reading is scheduled for October 20. The proposal still needs that approval before adoption.

💧 The city says the pause would allow time to consider regulations addressing water use, wastewater, electrical demand, and other community infrastructure needs.

Typical fall in Colorado: 80° one day, 40° the next. 😂🍂

Swamp cooler yesterday, heater today—and probably back again tomorrow! You know the well-known joke: “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.” 🏔️

Warm afternoons can fool us! Watch those overnight lows and prepare before the next freeze:

🌡️ Check the forecast for frost and freeze alerts.

❄️ Winterize your swamp cooler before freezing weather. Follow manufacturer guidance for AC covers; keep operating heat pumps uncovered.

🔥 Schedule a furnace check with an HVAC professional. Check your filter and replace it as needed with the correct size and type.

🚪 Seal drafts around windows and doors with appropriate caulk or weatherstripping.

🚨 Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

💧 Disconnect and drain garden hoses. Have your sprinkler system properly winterized.

🌿 Bring tender potted plants inside. Keep frost cloth handy for sensitive garden plants.

🍁 Clear leaves from gutters and drains. Hire help for high or hard-to-reach areas.

🔧 Protect exposed pipes in unheated spaces and locate your main water shutoff.

🧤 Find your shovel, check your flashlights, and keep an ice scraper in your car. Your credit card deserves a snow day! 😂

• 7/6 jumbo ARM: The interest rate stays the same for the first seven years, then may adjust every six months. Your rate and payment may increase.

• 30-year jumbo fixed: The interest rate stays the same throughout the loan term. Taxes and insurance costs can still change.
