A few nights ago ended an important time period in my professional career; I presided over my last meeting as President of the Board of Directors of the Elmbrook Education Foundation (EEF). When I joined the board eight years ago, being President was never a goal. It was to make a difference for the district that my kids were just starting school in.
But over the years, it became more than making a difference. It became having a voice. It became long nights of fundraising for huge initiatives such as elementary school instruments, equipment for theater, robotics & automation, hydroponic farms, LAUNCH and the newest initiative for 2026-2027 - Intergenerational Program. It became celebrations for 80+ scholarships given out in June 2026, Most Influential Educators, and delivering pizza to staff at the district hoping to put a smile on their face. It became a staple in my world to lead this organization to new heights alongside our Executive Director, Beth Dobrzynski.
Thank you to the Board of Directors for your trust the past three years. While I am still on the board, I will be enjoying watching from afar how much more this organization grows and builds momentum for the future. And, congratulations to our new President, Danielle Leitner Baxter, who is an amazing leader, especially in the non-profit space. I am so thankful for you and your willingness to serve your community.
