One of my favorite things about living and working in San Carlos is getting to know the incredible small businesses that make up our community. 💛

For my first local business spotlight, I had to start with Shru’s Kitchen, an amazing local vegan bakery! 🍰✨

I first tried Shruti’s Flavors of India cake back in 2020, and six years later, I’m still thinking about it. Pistachio + cardamom cake with rose coconut cream 🌹🥥 It’s 100% vegan and, vegan or not, truly one of the best cakes I’ve ever had.

Shruti and I also discovered we have a lot in common. We both come from the tech world, we’re moms and small-business owners, and now we’re both building businesses right here in San Carlos. 🥰

When I tell you this deal was a wild ride 😅😮‍💨.

This home didn’t sell the first time it hit the market. The seller came to me for a fresh approach, and even then our first buyer backed out partway through. We stayed patient, kept working it, and got it closed at $1,000,000 💪

My son and I spent the day at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, and I was genuinely surprised by how much BOTH of us enjoyed it. It takes you through the history of technology, from some of the earliest computers to video games, self-driving cars, AI, and more. There’s so much for kids to explore and plenty of nostalgia for adults too.
