🏡 WAITING FOR MORTGAGE RATES TO DROP BEFORE YOU BUY?
You're definitely not alone.
With mortgage rates still in the mid-6% range, many prospective buyers are asking the same question:
“Should I buy now—or wait until rates come down?” 🤔
Here's something important to consider:
📉 Mortgage rates recently dipped slightly for the first time in six weeks.
That's encouraging—but trying to perfectly time the housing market can be difficult.
A lower interest rate sounds great, but if rates fall enough to bring more buyers back into the market, you could also find yourself dealing with:
🏡 More competition for desirable homes
💰 More multiple-offer situations
🤝 Less negotiating leverage
📈 Increased pressure on home prices
On the other hand, today's market may give some buyers opportunities to negotiate that they wouldn't necessarily have in a more competitive environment.
The question isn't simply, “What are mortgage rates today?”
The better question is:
🔑 “Can I comfortably afford the right home for me under today's conditions?”
Your budget, monthly payment, available inventory, down payment, credit profile and long-term plans should all be part of that decision.
And remember—if rates eventually decline, refinancing may be an option. But you can't go back and purchase a home you missed while waiting for the “perfect” market.
💬 I'm curious:
If you found the RIGHT HOME today, would you move forward—or would you still wait for mortgage rates to come down?
