Italia Deli on Kanan has been serving Italian cold cuts since 1981, and this is one of my all-time favorite sub shops.

Italian cold cut with pepperoncinis on a hard roll.

Mortadella, capicola, and hard salami with this crazy flavor profile. Pepper from the salami, the pepperoncini bite, and the semolina on the bottom of the bread that picks up this almost peanut flavor when they toast it.

Pretty sure they use Boar's Head meats and cheese, so you know the quality is there. This sandwich hits every single time.

Handel's Homemade Ice Cream is opening a new location in Tarzana. It's the third location run by Zara Afshar. This Ohio-based chain makes fresh batches daily using real cream with no preservatives.

They'll have unique flavors like Graham Central Station and salted caramel in a classic parlor setting. Nostalgic small-batch ice cream done right.

CAVA is taking over the old Natural Cafe space in Westlake Village. Mediterranean bowls and pitas where you build your own with hummus, falafel, grilled meats, veggies, and sauces.

Fast-casual but actually fresh. This is going to become the default lunch spot for everyone who wants something healthy that doesn't taste like cardboard.

I'm actually mad I've never tried Osteria La Buca before now. Starting with their budino: salted caramel pudding with Maldon salt on top.🤤

Most desserts are too sweet for me, but not this little fella. This nails the balance between flaky salt and caramel. Slightly chalky texture means it got cooked a touch too long, but that's me being nitpicky.

This budino is legitimately really good.

Magma Pizzeria is opening their second location in Newbury Park at Conejo Valley Gateway Plaza. Their Moorpark spot has been killing it with handcrafted Neapolitan-style pizzas, fresh salads, sandwiches, and Italian deli imports.

Indoor-outdoor space means you can actually sit down and enjoy it. Finally, legit Neapolitan pizza without driving to LA.
