Understanding the "Choose VA" Postcard Campaign

What it is: A real outreach effort by the VA to connect with veterans not currently using VA healthcare.

Dates: Mailed between August 13 and September 11, 2026.

Goal: To explain your healthcare options, eligibility, and how to enroll.

Beginning August 13 through September 11, VA will mail “Choose VA” postcards to approximately 3.8 million Veterans who aren't enrolled in VA healthcare.

My husband and I are in our mid-50s, both pensioners, and we realized no one ever taught us how to actually spend what we saved. As a realtor, I absolutely love real estate, but upgrading our own home and condo for our lifestyle—not for generational wealth—is a totally new mindset! It has completely opened my eyes to how emotional it can be when you shift your real estate goals from "wealth building" to "pure quality of life." 🏡

✨I wrote a short blog post to share our experience. We are currently shopping around (a little late!) for a fee-based CFP who focuses on a spend plan rather than selling us products.
