One of Tennessee’s most unique and magical places is Ancient Lore Village in Knoxville. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale, surrounded by round hobbit-style homes, stone cottages, and colorful wooden doors built into green hillsides. Cobblestone paths twist through gardens, waterfalls, and small bridges, all carefully designed to look straight out of a storybook. Each themed dwelling—like the Fairy Cottage or Waterfall Villa—features cozy fireplaces, carved woodwork, and warm lights. Whether you visit for a tour, dinner, or overnight stay, every detail of this enchanting village feels handcrafted to transport you to another world.

West Virginia’s Berkeley Springs Castle is one of the most stunning landmarks in the state, sitting high on a hill above the warm mineral springs in the heart of Berkeley Springs. It was built in 1885 by Colonel Samuel Taylor Suit as a gift for his much younger wife, Rosa. The stone castle truly looks like it belongs in a fairy tale, with tall towers, arched windows, and thick stone walls that rise above the town below. From almost anywhere downtown, you can look up and see it watching over the streets. Its spot on the hillside makes it hard to miss as you walk around town. Today, the castle is mainly used for private events, but it does open for tours on certain dates, giving visitors a rare chance to step inside one of the most unusual and unforgettable places in West Virginia.

In Alabama, you can stay in a “cave house” that is truly built right into a cave overlooking Smith Lake just below! Not only are some of the walls and ceilings inside the cabin made of rock from the cave overhang above it, but the outside “covered porch” area is actually covered by the cave overhang itself...where you can sit in a rocker in front of a fire pit with views of the little cove of the lake stretching out before you in the distance! The Smith Lake Cave House and its massive space is about 1,500 square feet and filled with unique furniture, natural rock ceilings, and multiple fire pits. You’ll hear a private waterfall nearby and can relax at the swimming pier, fish from the dock, or use the included kayaks and paddleboards to venture out onto Smith Lake. There are outdoor showers, lakefront decks, and even a spot called the Lion’s Den with natural rock ceilings. You can rent the Smith Lake Cave House on Air BNB for one of Alabama's most unique stays!
