This is the part of short-term rentals nobody posts.

Short term rental can bring in more cash flow than traditional rent… but it also may test you in ways you never expected.

If you’re getting into this game, understand:

• Guest count matters
• Monitoring matters
• Clear house rules matter
• Enforcing boundaries matters

Any real estate investor will admit..
You LOSE MONEY when you LOSE CONTROL of your property..

I had to pull up, let them know this wasn’t a space to take advantage of, and give two options:
Pay for the actual guest count — or leave.

They paid.

Cash flow is great.
Control is better.

If you’re not prepared to protect possession of your property, this isn’t passive income.

A lot of people confuse buying an Airbnb with buying a relationship — and they’re not the same.

• Buying a relationship = you’re taking over a lease or the previous operator’s agreement with the owner. No listing. No history. No guarantees.
• Buying a business = you’re acquiring a live, operating Airbnb. Listing included. Reviews included. Numbers matter.

If you’re buying a business, ask for the financials.
If you’re buying a relationship, understand the risk.

Understand the deal, know how to analyze it, and be clear on what you’re actually paying for.

Thankfully, the Little Green Bissell came through and saved the day before this crime scene became permanent.

If you have pets, kids, or manage Airbnbs, you already know… this thing is less of a cleaning tool and more of a life saver.
