Happy 6 year anniversary to us! For whatever reason bowling was the activity of choice on Saturday night. We bowled quite a bit early in our relationship with and without the kids, but then the kids became too cool to be seen with us, or was it vice versa?

I appreciate that no matter how busy we become we always make time for one another. It’s been a wonderful 6 years! Love you Evelyn Lauer ❤️

Seems like an appropriate time to mention a few items that may help prevent a flood or water intrusion or general items to look for when shopping for a home with any room below ground.

One of the more important items is to make sure the rain falling on the roof is equally dispersed downward and away from your home, however making sure all necessary systems are operating properly will be your best bet to reduce the odds of any water coming in.

We had a little reunion of the University of Iowa DU’s of the 1990s this weekend. Hearing “your offer was accepted” is the moment every buyer is waiting for.

It’s a great feeling, but it’s also not quite time to pop the bubbly, because there’s still a month of real steps between “you got the house!” and the keys in your hand.

Inspection, appraisal, loan, walkthrough, closing, and countless small details in between.

We took a much needed break this week in Eagle River Wisconsin. Lots of outdoor activities, not much screen time, and I enjoyed every moment of it. The kids enjoyed the change of pace as well.

Evelyn Lauer finds the best places to go and this was no exception. We were even able to bring our dog!

The crazy thing about the trip is we thought our 11 year old dog was slowing down this year with shorter walks and less enthusiasm. It turns out he was getting tired of his routine at home. He had more energy on this trip than I’ve seen in years!
