A groundbreaking ceremony took place August 21, 2026 for the new CARD Aquatic and Recreation Center in Chico, which is being constructed by Slater & Sons. This project will be located on the north end of Chico on Garner Lane, about a 10 minute drive from Skyway & Bruce Road.

If you are not from the Chico area, Bidwell Mansion is a landmark that has been beloved by the people of Chico for several lifetimes. A fire pretty well destroyed it a few years ago, but folks in the area want to bring it back and still picture the original mansion. We will see what happens with the restoration and definitely are hoping for the best!
