September 11, 2001 — a day we will never forget. 🇺🇸
For so many of us, it is one of those moments in life when we will always remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news.
Today, we honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families forever changed, and the extraordinary bravery of the first responders and everyday heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away. We also remember the survivors and first responders who continue to live with—and, even today, lose their lives from—the lasting health effects of that tragic day.
Having visited New York several times, I find it difficult to stand where the Twin Towers once stood and comprehend what it must have been like to be there on September 11, 2001.
Twenty-five years later, may we continue to remember the lives lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of so many, and never forget the unity that followed.
May we never forget. 🇺🇸
