Please tell me I’m not the only one. By the last time they call my name I normally give up. It takes a lot of will power and patience to get to my happy place sometimes.

Baby Reiney is a magnet. I’m sitting on my gelding working on his roping and look over to see this. It made me smile and took some of the mom guilt away.

Well, apparently we need more pad racks. It’s tough when you share a tackroom with multiple riders because if it fits, it sits… still working to find systems that keep our tackroom put together, but who knows when we will figure it out.

I spy two kids who can say they were raised in a barn and here is their proof. I tell them to retreat to the tackroom to keep them safe from the horses we lead through. So grateful for a big brother that loves his little sister. They will have the best immune systems.

You see a woman on a horse roping a cow, but I see a mom who got to escape her responsibilities for a moment. And for her to get that moment, it took a team to make it possible.

Horses require a lot of physical labor, and so does carrying around a 6-month-old baby. You can’t get things done as effortlessly as before the baby, and at the same time, you want to keep that baby safe and happy. It is so easy to give up and not take that moment for yourself.

It takes effort to find someone to help hold your baby. It takes planning to make sure you have everything needed to keep your baby happy. It takes energy to saddle the horse and focus to be present with your horse instead of worrying about the baby.

I would not trade having my baby for anything, but I am grateful to have support that allows me to be both a mom and a horsewoman.
