🚫 NO on 4 & 5 — Protect Missouri. Protect Our Voice. 🚫
On August 4th, Missourians have a big decision to make — and it's not just another vote. Amendments 4 and 5 would fundamentally change how our state works, and not for the better.
Amendment 4 — Protect Majority Rule
Right now, when Missourians vote on a citizen-led constitutional amendment, a simple statewide majority decides it. That's how it's worked for over a century. Amendment 4 would change that by requiring a majority in EVERY ONE of Missouri's 8 congressional districts. That means even if 90% of the state supported something, one district voting "no" could kill it. A small minority could veto the will of the majority. That's not democracy — that's a loophole for special interests to override the people.
Amendment 5 — Protect Taxpayers
Amendment 5 would phase out Missouri's individual income tax and open the door to expanding sales and use taxes to make up the difference — without the transparency and accountability Missourians deserve on something this big. A tax overhaul of this size should be spelled out clearly for voters, not buried in constitutional language that a court itself had to rewrite because it wasn't clear enough.
