We would like to thank Service Credit Union of Concord, NH for their sponsorship support toward the purchase of a picnic table and additional gardening items for the residents at Penacook Landing. Penacook Landing is our 54-unit affordable housing community in Penacook, NH.
This sponsorship has brought great energy, beauty, and participation to the community. Our tenants are tending the gardens. (As the pictures show things are going amazing) They are spending time sitting at the shaded picnic table chatting or having a meal together. Tenants now also have flowerpots near the entry ways they are tending. The Tenants are out early cutting lettuce to prepare their lunch and can't wait to also have tomatoes.
Some people see an apartment complex and think that certain things are not possible; Penacook Landing is changing that! In a concreate parking lot there is a beautiful vegetable garden providing tenants more than healthy food. Our tenants have said it is dirt therapy; it is a beautiful greeting when they come home or just drive by; they comment that their family and friends have said how great this is to have, and over all joy and gratitude is felt.
