He just turned 23 last week. It was the third day of the battle. He was supposed to go home before the battle broke out. He chose to stay behind and let another soldier go home. He took a mortar right to the middle of his chest. Instantly his torso was vaporized. His final seconds were filled with pain. He died in pain and he was scared. What was left was a gruesome sight. Just like that, he was gone. All of his dreams, his ambitions. He could have been a doctor, mechanic etc…He never got to meet a woman to call his wife. Never got to have children. Never got to see future generations. His death had a terrible impact on his sister, brother, Mom and Dad. It rippled for decades. They never saw him again. They only knew that we was in a far off place and had died there.
