Illinois is facing a critical shortage of volunteer firefighters

08/04/2026

This Wednesday marks the 32nd anniversary of the murder of Sherry Lewis.

For months, I've been working on this case. Tons of research was done. This isn't just another true crime story—it's about a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a family that has spent more than three decades waiting for answers.

Today, overwhelming evidence is in the hands of the Macon County Sheriff's Office and the Macon County State's Attorney's Office. The hope for justice is still alive.

This Wednesday, American Dread will release a special episode that takes you through Sherry's story, the investigation, and why so many people believe this case deserves renewed attention.

If you believe Sherry deserves justice:

🔹 Like this post
🔹 Follow American Dread
🔹 Share this post so more people hear Sherry's story and are notified when the episode is released on Wednesday.

One share could help keep this case in the public eye. One share could make a difference.

Because after 32 years... Sherry Lewis deserves answers.

In case you decide to sell your house without a real estate agent. This is just the start of what you need.

Selling your home without a real estate agent in Illinois? Here's a quick checklist of where you still need professional support:

✔ Illinois Residential Real Property Disclosure Report — required by law
✔ A properly drafted purchase contract that protects your interests
✔ A title search to confirm clear ownership
✔ Title insurance for the buyer and their lender
✔ A licensed closing agent to manage funds, paperwork, and deed recording

The good news? Macon County Title handles all of it, right here in Decatur. We even have in-house attorneys who can review your contract — no referral required. Have questions about your FSBO sale? Drop them in the comments or give us a call at (217) 428-8080. We're happy to help.
