The area of 3348 Pawtucket Avenue (area of Silver Spring Golf Course) is closed to through traffic at this time due to a serious car crash. The road is not passable. Northbound traffic on Pawtucket Avenue is being diverted to Forbes Street. Southbound traffic on Pawtucket Avenue and Veterans Memorial Parkway should be diverted to Wampanoag Trail. The road will be closed until utilities can be safely removed from the roadway. Seek alternate routes and plan more time to reach your destination.

🚨 School Bus Safety Enforcement Back in Effect 🚨

As of this past Monday, the East Providence Police Department has officially rolled out the Gatekeeper School Bus Stop-Arm Violation Enforcement Program.

Drivers who fail to stop for a school bus with its stop arm extended may face fines ranging from $250 to $500 per violation. This program is similar to the Stop-Arm violation program we have used for years.

This initiative is about one thing: protecting our children. Our goal is to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors, especially our young students, during school bus pick-up and drop-off times.

🛑 When the stop arm is out, STOP. No exceptions.

Let’s work together to keep our streets safe and our kids protected.
