👀 Have you ever heard the story of the Iron Mountain Baby?

In 1902, near Irondale, Missouri, a farmer named Bill Helms heard the faint cry of a baby beneath a railroad bridge. Hidden inside a small suitcase was a newborn—only a few days old—who had been thrown from a moving train nearly 50 feet above.

Against all odds, the baby survived.

Bill and his wife took the child home, nursed him back to health, and eventually adopted him. The baby became known as the Iron Mountain Baby, and his incredible story has been passed down through generations as one of Missouri’s most remarkable legends.

The coolest part? The historic bridge where this miracle happened sits right along our beautiful float and kayak route. As you’re soaking in the scenery and making memories on the river, you’re also passing a place with an unforgettable piece of Missouri history.

First, I want to say THANK YOU for supporting my page! With so many new followers recently, I thought it would be the perfect time to reintroduce myself.

Hi! I'm Abi Feltner, a REALTOR® with Triple Creek Realty and a special education teacher in the Farmington School District.

Real estate has been part of my journey for many years. Before becoming a REALTOR®, I worked as an insurance agent with Missouri Farm Bureau in the Farmington area and also completed property evaluations throughout St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Jefferson, St.Louis and Washington counties, for First State Community Bank. Those experiences gave me a well-rounded understanding of homeownership, property values, and the buying process that I now bring to every client I serve.

When I began my career in sales back in 2012, my mom gave me advice that has stayed with me ever since:

"Never make a sale. Treat everyone like family and teach them about the process they're going through."

That simple piece of advice shaped the way I do business today.

Whether I'm teaching in the classroom or helping someone buy or sell a home, my goal is the same: to educate, empower, and support.
